Amazon.com Review
Yogurt is a great, guilt-free snack for both adults and kids. With this yogurt maker, it's easy to add favorite flavors--including exotic and sweet fruits, rich crunchy nuts, and natural sweeteners--to basic yogurt. Just follow the recipes, supplied by the manufacturer, and a nutritious snack, with very little fat and no preservatives (like most commercial brands), is not too far away. Making yogurt takes from 4 to 10 hours to process, depending on desired tartness of the batch. If you're looking for frozen yogurt, you do have to chill it for 2 hours in the freezer before consumption after it's made. The yogurt can be stored up to one week. --Teresa Simanton

1 out of 5 stars Good recipe - product not needed   January 28, 2010

I have been making yogurt in my rice cooker for a couple of years...yes, my rice cooker. My quest for the perfect yogurt recipe ended here. I provided a product identical to Greek yogurt. The recipe is outstanding and delivers a thick rich premium product that can be used in many cooking applications including Indian curries, baking, breads, dressings and other recipes requiring milk or other soft or liquid dairy forms excepting cheese. Adding sugar, honey or a sugar substitute will create an Asian style yogurt similar to Vietnamese yogurt which is used as a dessert with fruit or berries. Condensed (sweetened) milk Nestle Carnation Evaporated Milk, 8 Can of 12 Oz (354 Ml) can be substituted for the 12 ounces of evaporated milkNestle Carnation Evaporated Milk, 8 Can of 12 Oz (354 Ml).

I have not tried goats milk Meyenberg Evaporated Goat Milk, 12-Ounce Cans (Pack of 12)as a substitute for the evaporated milk or soy milk but I see no reason why the results would not be similar or equal.

We eat a lot of yogurt and this yogurt maker is great. It makes really creamy and yummy yogurt. You just need a good starter. And you dont even need to add the milk powder if using for smoothes or eating it plain. In summer it makes yogurt in 2 hrs and in winter about 4 hrs. I dont use the plastic container that comes with the yogurt maker but a glass mason jar to make yogurt. I would definitely recommend this product.

This yogurt maker makes great yogurt and is very easy to use, but the design of the yogurt container could be improved as it doesn't really close.
