Excellent space saver March 19, 2010 E. Lacey (Shrewsbury, MA United States) This binder is a great solution for those individuals whose DVD/Blu-Ray libraries have expanded beyond their current shelf storage systems. The binder is big-- 7 inches wide is bigger than you think, and holds between 92 and 200 movies. Each page has room for 2 cover-art sheets and 4 discs, plus 16 slip-in slots in the cover of the case. To get the maximum storage possible, you need to either double-up the cover art, or go without. The case works really well for TV sets, where you often require multiple pages for discs for just a single cover art slip.
A few of the things I like about this case:
1. Solid construction-- does not seem like it will break down quickly even when filled to maximum capacity
2. Good storage space, especially compared to the competition
3. Stores full-size (dvd/blu-ray) cover art
4. Inexpensive alternative as compared to similar products
A few things I think could be improved:
1. I would like to be able to store 4 cover art slips on each page instead of 2. This could have been achieved with a different design using 2 plastic layers instead of one, providing 4 overlapping pockets.
2. It's a pain to add pages to the binder anywhere but in the front, as, unlike a standard 3-ring binder, the rings open from the front (first page) of the binder rather than the middle. This allows the binder to be a bit more compact, but does make it more difficult to add pages in the middle/end.
3. There is no place to add page numbers to the individual pages, and no place to add a binder number on the (outside) spine. Therefore, if you get sick of trying to alphabetize due to the previous issue, it's hard to keep track of where any individual dvd is stored.
Once you make the decision to move to a binder system instead of storage shelves, this binder is a good (but not perfect) option.
Surprised March 9, 2010 David Cuevas (Bronx N.Y.) I thought this was going to be smaller but I'm glad it's not, saved me a lot of space and I'am quite the movie collector. I will probably need to order more soon.
The best I have found! March 1, 2010 Amber Locke (Seattle, WA) Definitly happy with this DVD case! Especially since you can have the cover in there too and not just the DVD. I have come across so many "DVD cases" that leave no room for the cover, only the DVD, or have room for a CD cover. This is perfect! It fits my DVD's well and looks very stylish.
I do wish that the way to insert more DVD pages was in the back and not the front. It just makes more sense to have the extra empty left over pages in the back. I have certain DVDs that I like to keep in the front.
Koskin DVD Binder 200 Capacity . January 23, 2010 Arnita D. Brown (USA) I love this case. This DVD Album holds 200 discs and 92 movie title notes. Fast-File system that allows for quick storage and immediate access to 16 favorite or "now playing" DVDs. Quick-Lock Moveable Page System makes reorganizing or alphabetizing your DVD collection a snap. Durable, padded outer-material resistant to heat, moisture, and tearing. This case also has a see-through front pocket that holds movie title notes. If you're like me and have large collections of DVDs and have ran out of room to store them, well this is the case for you.
Best All Round Solution December 11, 2009 JLB (Northern Virginia) We have a large movie collection (1,600+ titles), and used to keep it on a series of bookshelves. However, it simply grew too large to manage this way, and I did a lot of searching to find the right type of binder system. Whereas it's not perfect, this one has met our need rather neatly. The zipper is a little annoying, but only a little. The straps that hold the pages in are quite secure, however, if you want to insert pages somewhere in the middle, then you're forced to do a little work to pull pages out, insert, and then put the others back in. A little tedious, but the tradeoffs to the rings is I think the straps are more secure, a good feature for the weight of approx 200 disks. The one significant drawback to the binder is the direction in which the disks go into the sleeves. The disks insert into the sleeves the opposite side of the handle. So, if you're holding the binder by the handle, the openings in the sleeves end up pointing down. This isn't a problem when the sleeves are relatively new or if the case is handled gently, but once disks are inserted/removed a few times they don't hold the disks as tightly, hence the disks can slide out when holding the case with the handle in the top-most position. All in all though, this is the best system I've found and will continue to use it. We have 8 of these, and I'm ordering a few more so we can finish transfering our titles out of the plastic cases.
